CLOUDCOM 6: The Next Generation of Intelligent Grow Control

CLOUDCOM 6: The Next Generation of Intelligent Grow Control

A grow setup rarely stays the same for long. You might start with a grow light and inline fan, then add circulation, humidity control, and sensors for different stages of plant development. As more equipment comes into the picture, coordinating everything becomes just as important as choosing the right devices.

The AC Infinity CLOUDCOM 6 Environmental Grow Controller brings together a full-color touchscreen, six UIS ports, compatible expansion hubs, built-in Thread mesh networking, and intelligent climate automation. It gives growers more options for connecting equipment, monitoring conditions, and expanding a system over time.

Already Using CONTROLLER AI+?

For growers already using CONTROLLER AI+, the main reason to consider CLOUDCOM 6 is added flexibility, particularly when a setup needs more connections, compatible wireless devices, or broader sensor integration. CONTROLLER AI+ remains a capable option for growers whose existing system meets their needs; CLOUDCOM 6 is aimed at those planning a more expandable control setup.

Move Beyond Basic Climate Control

01

Temperature is only one part of a growing environment. Humidity, airflow, light, and root-zone conditions also influence plant development, and these variables can shift throughout the day. When devices operate independently, growers may need to make frequent manual adjustments to keep conditions on target.

CLOUDCOM 6 brings compatible equipment and environmental readings into one control system. Its built-in temperature, humidity, and VPD monitoring, configurable triggers, schedules, and dynamic automations help supported devices respond to the conditions you set.

Example

For example, when grow lights turn on, a tent may warm up and humidity may change. You can configure compatible ventilation or humidity-control equipment to respond to selected thresholds instead of relying only on a fixed fan speed or manual adjustments. The controller helps carry out your plan, while you remain responsible for choosing targets that suit your plants and growing method.

Thread Mesh: More Freedom to Build Your Grow

02

As a grow expands from one tent to multiple tents, shelves, or a dedicated room, routing control cables can become more complicated. CLOUDCOM 6 includes Thread mesh networking, providing another way to connect compatible wireless devices through the required Thread receivers instead of running a direct UIS control cable to every supported device.

How Thread Mesh Helps

Thread is a local wireless mesh network. Compatible participating devices can communicate through the network and, where supported, help relay communications. This can make it easier to place equipment around a growing space without designing every connection around a cable run. CLOUDCOM 6 supports up to 100 compatible wireless devices using the required Thread mesh receivers.

Thread mesh communication is distinct from your home Wi-Fi connection. Local mesh communication is designed to continue when Wi-Fi is unavailable, while remote app access and other internet-dependent features still require the relevant network connection. Wireless connectivity also does not remove the need to power each device, and not every AC Infinity product is automatically Thread-compatible.

A Practical Example

Imagine a main flowering tent, a propagation shelf across the room, and a separate reservoir area. You can keep essential equipment wired where convenient and use compatible Thread-enabled devices in locations where wireless connectivity makes installation easier. That gives you more options as your layout changes, without requiring every supported device to connect directly to the controller by cable.

Expand Wired Control With 4-in-1 UIS Hubs

03

Wired equipment remains important in many grow setups. CLOUDCOM 6 has six built-in UIS ports and supports compatible 4-in-1 UIS hubs to expand the number of connections. Depending on the hub and configuration, a hub can accommodate four individually controlled devices or four sensors.

Independent control matters because equipment often has different jobs. An inline fan may respond to rising temperatures, a humidifier to humidity, a grow light to its own schedule, and a circulation fan to a baseline airflow setting. A compatible independent-control hub lets supported connected devices use their own settings rather than forcing them all to follow one shared program.

With compatible expansion hubs, CLOUDCOM 6 can support up to 24 individually controlled wired connections. Thread mesh adds another connection option for compatible wireless devices, so you can combine wired equipment, hubs, and wireless devices according to your space and needs.

Monitor More Than the Air Around Your Plants

04

Temperature and humidity describe only part of the environment. Root-zone moisture, nutrient-solution conditions, CO₂, and light readings can provide additional context. Compatible sensors help bring these measurements into your broader monitoring workflow, though supported connections and required accessories vary by product.

Temperature, Humidity, and VPD

CLOUDCOM 6 monitors temperature, relative humidity, and vapor pressure deficit (VPD), and includes a corded environmental sensor with a 12-foot probe. VPD relates temperature and humidity to the evaporative demand experienced by plants, giving growers another way to assess whether conditions suit a particular growth stage.

Example

For example, if VPD rises after the lights turn on and the tent warms, you can review the trend and configure compatible ventilation or humidity-control equipment to respond to selected thresholds. The goal is to maintain conditions appropriate for your plants, not to chase one number regardless of the growing context.

CO₂ and Light Monitoring

The AI CO₂ + Light Sensor can track carbon dioxide concentration and light conditions. A grower might compare light readings at different points in the canopy or review how CO₂ levels change during ventilation cycles. These measurements can help reveal patterns and inform equipment or setting adjustments, but they do not guarantee better growth on their own.

Soil Moisture and Root-Zone Conditions

The AI Soil Sensor measures moisture and saturation in soil and suitable growing media. Instead of relying only on surface appearance or a fixed watering schedule, growers can use readings to identify when the root zone is drying out or remaining saturated longer than expected.

Hydroponic Nutrient and Water Monitoring

For hydroponic systems, the AI Hydro Sensor monitors pH, electrical conductivity (EC), total dissolved solids (TDS), and water temperature. pH indicates how acidic or alkaline a solution is, while EC is commonly used to assess dissolved nutrient concentration and TDS estimates the amount of dissolved solids.

If pH or EC changes more quickly than expected, historical readings can help you spot the trend and decide when to inspect the reservoir, verify measurements, or adjust the solution. This adds context to hydroponic monitoring beyond air temperature and humidity alone.

Water Detection and Early Alerts

The AI Water Sensor detects the presence of liquid. Placed near a reservoir, irrigation line, or vulnerable connection, it can help identify unexpected water accumulation and support compatible alerts or automation. It cannot prevent a leak, but earlier detection can give you more time to respond.

Before adding a sensor, check its compatibility with CLOUDCOM 6 and confirm whether it requires a direct UIS connection, a compatible hub, or a Thread receiver.

Turn Environmental Data Into Useful Automation

05

Sensor readings are most valuable when they help guide action. CLOUDCOM 6 lets growers combine monitoring with configurable programming so compatible equipment can respond to selected conditions instead of relying entirely on fixed schedules.

  • Respond to rising heat: Configure compatible ventilation to increase output when temperature crosses a selected threshold.
  • Manage humidity changes: Use humidity readings to trigger compatible climate equipment as conditions shift after watering or during the light cycle.
  • Maintain airflow: Keep baseline circulation running while other devices respond independently to changing conditions.
  • Spot recurring patterns: Review historical charts for repeated temperature spikes, overnight humidity increases, or other trends that may call for adjustments.
  • Add context beyond the canopy: Incorporate compatible root-zone, water, CO₂, or hydroponic readings into your monitoring routine.

Automation still has limits. A controller cannot make an undersized air conditioner cool a hot room or remove humidity when the incoming air is already saturated. CLOUDCOM 6 helps coordinate compatible equipment and review results, but effective growing still depends on suitable hardware and informed decisions.

CLOUDCOM 6 vs. CONTROLLER AI+: Which Fits Your Setup?

06

CONTROLLER AI+ remains a strong choice for growers who have the connections they need and are happy with their current setup. There is no need to upgrade simply for the sake of having a newer controller. CLOUDCOM 6 becomes more compelling when expansion, connection flexibility, and integrating additional supported devices are priorities.

  • More ways to connect: CLOUDCOM 6 combines six built-in UIS ports and compatible 4-in-1 expansion hubs with built-in Thread mesh networking for supported wireless devices.
  • Room to expand: Compatible hubs can expand CLOUDCOM 6 to up to 24 individually controlled wired connections, while Thread mesh supports up to 100 compatible wireless devices with the required receivers.
  • More flexible layouts: Wired devices can stay connected directly or through hubs, while compatible Thread devices can be placed where a direct control cable is inconvenient.
  • Broader monitoring workflows: Compatible additional sensors can add information about light, CO₂, soil moisture, hydroponic solution, or water detection, subject to connection and accessory requirements.
In Short

In short, CONTROLLER AI+ can be the right fit for an established system that already meets your needs. CLOUDCOM 6 is worth considering when you want more options for expanding the number and types of connected devices, changing their placement, or bringing more measurements into your grow-management routine.
